About this queue
One operation
PhotosUpscaler does one thing: it takes a directory of images, applies one upward factor and one output format to all of them, and hands back an archive. It has no preview, no comparison view, no per-image control, no model picker on a landing page and no route named after a magnification. Each of those absences is a decision, and most of them are the same decision: a queue of five hundred files is not five hundred single-image sessions stacked up, and building it as though it were produces a tool nobody finishes a job with.
Upscaling one photograph properly — with a slider to compare before and after, a loupe, a denoise control and a print-size helper — is a genuinely different product, and it is enlargepicture.com. This one is the folder.
Why the estimate is the product
Super resolution in a browser tab is arithmetic that does not scale. One pass of the smaller network is a fifth of a second and one photograph can be a thousand passes, so the difference between a job that finishes over a coffee and one that does not finish at all is a factor a person cannot judge by looking at a folder.
So this site measures rather than promises. It runs eight real tiles from three of your own files on your own processor, takes the median, and quotes a range before it will start. Where the answer is bad it says the answer is bad, publishes the threshold it refused at, and puts the refused files through an arithmetic enlarger that finishes them in under half a second each. A queue here always reaches the end; sometimes it reaches the end having told you the model was the wrong instrument.
What it cannot do
- There is no GPU in this path and no second thread. A desktop application with a graphics card behind it will beat this by two orders of magnitude.
- It cannot make a picture smaller. The factor control has no value below one, and a resize to an exact pixel target is a different tool entirely.
- It cannot recover detail that was never recorded. It produces a plausible larger version, which is useful and is a smaller claim than the one this category usually makes.
- It cannot tell you whether the result is good enough for your listing. There is no comparison view here to judge it with, which is the honest cost of the queue shape.
Who this is
It is one of a set of single-purpose image tools built on a shared engine, credited in the header of every page. Each of them owns one operation and grows downward into that operation rather than sideways into somebody else’s. There is no link block to the others here and there will not be one; the one place this site points elsewhere is the queue’s empty state, for the person who has one photograph rather than a folder.
